....... A SHABBAT TO REMEMBER .......

[Sigh]… Last Shabbat was a Shabbat to remember. (November 23rd, 2007). As always, we’re getting ready for dinner… My dad bought these cute Challah which I just had to take a picture of.

Not only were they cute, they were also very tasty. If you’re interested in buying some for yourself, you should check out the “Carriage House Inn”. They’re on sale every Friday (duh!). Anyways, we were all seated at the dinner table as a family, all waiting to eat the lovely meal (matzah ball soup, gourmet Caesar salad, etc, etc), but of course, we had to pray… So, my dad led in prayer… Prayer for the bread, the wine, blessings upon his wife, and his kids; then he prayed a general prayer for the family, giving thanks for our day, and the many blessings that we have been given, etc, etc. When my father finished praying, out of no where, my sister asked my dad if she too could pray. So, okay, yeah, uh, go ahead Sis, might as well since we’re all here STARVING! (Just kidding Sis) So, she prayed, and said something along the lines of “Thank you L-RD for Tom’s job, and thank you L-RD, cause I’m 6 weeks pregnant!”

Jaws dropped, smiles, shock ‘n’ awe, tears of joy. My father is absolutely excited, my mother is joyful, the kids looked part happy and part confused. My sister was crying out in joy, Tom was comforting her with a smile on his face, and I, well, till this day I’m still in shock, simply because, well, I’M GONNA BE AN UNCLE!!! Can you imagine? Me? An UNCLE!!!

Well, just thought I should not only keep a record of this, but also share this piece of information with everyone! [Sigh]... A Shabbat to remember...

....... "Human" ~ Skye Sweetnam .......

The following music video is "Human" from Skye Sweetnam's latest album "Sound Soldier". The following article was in the Calgary Sun today (November 22nd, 2007), which gave some information about Skye.

Here are the lyrics to the following song:

"HUMAN"

You know what Simon Says
He tells you what to do
What if he told you to
Take off all your clothes
And dance in your birthday suit

Sure it's the latest craze
We all get influenced
The little secret they don't
Want you to know no no

We're only human
Seperated by our thoughts
So hang on to them
Or you'll find you might get caught
Caught up in the

Hey Monkey See and Monkey Do
Must they get brainwashed
By what's surrounding you
Didn't you know that
Every little thing's contagious
Oh yes every little thing's contagious

It's when you watch TV
In everything you see
The virus seeping through
And you start to want
What they tell you you should want

It's in the air you breathe
It's hidden up their sleeves
They're even marketing
What I say right now
Watch out!

We're only human
Seperated by our thoughts
So hang on to them
Or you'll find you might get caught
Caught up in the

Hey Monkey See and Monkey Do
Must they get brainwashed
By what's surrounding you
Didn't you know that
Every little thing's contagious
Oh yes every little thing's contagious

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na
We're only human separated
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na
We're only human separated
Only human separated

Caught up in the

Hey Monkey See and Monkey Do
Must they get brainwashed
By what's surrounding you
Didn't you know that
Every little thing's contagious
Oh yes every little thing's contagious

Hey Monkey See and Monkey Do
Must they get brainwashed
By what's surrounding you
Didn't you know that
Every little thing's contagious
Oh yes every little thing's contagious

Okay so I gotta admit, that music video weirded me out… A LOT! But, none-the-less, it does make a lot of sense! I mean, look at the way people are acting nowadays… It seems like no one really sticks to any morals… And, let’s not leave out the wonderful role models in our world… I don’t mean to list out only girls, but at the moment I can only think of a list of their names… But, the wonderful role models include Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, the Olsen twins, and of course, Britney Spears. When did the degredation of oneself become the status quo? With these type of people, being models to the kids growing up today, it’s no wonder so many morals are being broken, broken to the point that it seems to becoming the norm in life. Life in itself is becoming one heck of a social drama show! Stop following what the tv, the media, is telling you to do!
